Annual Tree Sale
It is once again time for the Vinton Soil & Water Conservation District’s Annual Tree Sale! Planting season is just around the corner, so plan ahead and order your future forest today! We are continuing to offer packets of bare root hardwood & conifer seedlings, fruit trees, ground cover, wildlife food plot seed, pollinator habitat seed, bluebird boxes, bat boxes, and more! Our Forester is available to answer questions about the available species and to advise on planting. Tree planting bars and a mechanical tree planter are available to use from the District as well. A brochure with more information and ordering instructions is available through the link below or by calling our office at (740)596-5676. Orders must be received by February 13th. Tentative pickup date is April 3rd at our office.
Our Mission
The Vinton Soil & Water Conservation Dsitrict exists to promote wise land-use management through technical and educational services in order to help people conserve and enhance the Natural Resources of Vinton County.
Our History & Who We are
The Vinton Soil & Water Conservation District was formed in 1946, making it the 45th Soil & Water Conservation District formed in the state. The Vinton SWCD was created to bring about conservation and development, with the wise use of Vinton counties vast natural resources in mind. The Vinton SWCD is funded by the Vinton County Commissioners as well as the Ohio Department of Agriculture. A five member elected Board of Supervisors who serve three year terms govern the district. To be eligible to serve on the Soil & Water Conservation District Board you must be at least 18 years old and reside in Vinton County.

Monthly Board Meetings
Monthly meetings of the Vinton Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 4PM. If you wish to attend or have any questions, please call (740)596-5676. Any rescheduling of meetings will be posted here.
